Music is life, it is a wisp of inspiration that speaks to your soul. However, there are a lot of bands in 2019 that have not been seen or heard that clearly need a step up in the game. If you have a local band that you may have heard of, follow them, support them, common on their forums, in order for them to get this jump-start in a hard driven industry. There are many different aspects of the music industry that everyday people may not be aware of, that’s why it is so important to find bands worth listening to in 2019 that may not be mainstream.
What Are Some Bands Worth Listening To In 2019?
Recently on Complex, “It’s an exciting time for music. The barriers to entry are lower than ever and technology has made music-making tools accessible to young people with an internet connection, wherever they live. While much of the conversation in 2018 and 2019 has focused on solo stars and rap music’s rise to pop culture’s driving force, there are great things happening in bedrooms and garages across the world, and across genres.” However, there are thousands of bands that are not on this particular set list that you may not a part of that could be found all across social media sites. Bands such as 1975, Royal Blood, Pale Waves, Catfish And The Bottlemen, CHVRCHES, Blossoms, Wolf Alice, and Hazel Peele are an uprising and should be appreciated on a higher scale.
The importance behind finding local bands and supporting them is so that the music industry can be appreciated on an individual level. Bands don’t have the same requirements as they did years ago as technology continues to grow and change. Forbes also declared, “We live in a singles world today. No longer does anyone consistently sit down for 40 or 50 consecutive minutes to listen to an album from front to back like they used to. In our portable music society today where streaming music from Spotify or Apple Music is the king, there’s no reason to be tied to the music playback system or to listen to songs that we don’t care to listen to.”
There are going to be new musical hits that come across social media feeds in groups and on forms that more people need to become aware of as they have just as much creativity as a famous celebrity that lives in LA. Wouldn’t it be nice to see more local bands and action instead of industry plants? Seventeen magazine shares, “New year, new music: 2019 is already proving to be one of the biggest years for musical hits. With new songs from some of our favorite artists and those who are making their debut in the new year, there is bound to be multiple standout singles throughout the year. Some of these songs might make you shed a tear, while others will have you running to the dance floor and busting your favorite move.” However, while we all love these single standouts and known celebrities, the music industry is hard to break through with local bands because they have a larger impression to make compared to bands that have an actual label.
It may be a good idea to find local bands or bands that have your personal individual style and show your support like mentioning them to import magazines and stating their name through comments and sharing their pages to your friends and family. There’s a world of music out there that’s not being addressed or listening to that has a diversity that could change people’s lives. Rolling Stone expressed, “Who rules the road in 2013? To find out, Rolling Stone asked a panel of writers, industry figures and artists – from Lars Ulrich of Metallica to Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes – to vote on their favorite live performers right now. To be eligible for the list, a performer must have toured within the last five years and not announced their retirement.” But why do bands like SWMRS, PHOX, Real Friends, Jukebox the Ghost, Odd Squad Family, and Hazel Peele not get heard of quicker? Buzz Feed states, “Here’s your chance to say, I heard them first.” So why are they not just as famous, as let’s say Beyoncé or Five Finger? They are just as creative and have just as much musical talent that famous celebrities have just not necessarily with a full functioning album label.
